Huizen, 12 februari 2013 - Van Amersfoort Racing welcomes a new driver in their Formula 3 squad: the Swede Mans Grenhagen. The 19-year old driver from Stockholm will drive one of the Dallara's in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship.

Mans Grenhagen put himself in the spotlights in last seasons European Open F3. The Scandinavian finished third in the championship with four pole positions and nine podium finishes, including four wins.

The Swede is the second driver Van Amersfoort Racing recruited for the new adventure in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. Earlier this month Dennis van de Laar was presented as on of our drivers for the 2013 season.

The Dutch team led by Frits van Amersfoort has many years of experience in F3 and guided drivers like Jos Verstappen and Christijan Albers their way up to Formula 1. In recent years the team scored many championships and victories in the ATS F3 Cup.

There is a possibility that Van Amersfoort Racing will run a third car in this highly regarded pan-European championship, which is designed to aid the progress of young drivers trough the ranks of junior motorsport towards an eventual drive in Formula 1. The team is still negotiating
with multiple drivers.

Teamowner Frits van Amersfoort:

“We are very pleased to welcome Mans in our family. Last season we followed him closely and were impressed by his speed and performance. Especially because Mans returned after a year without racing. We hope we can help him in making the next step: battle with the best F3 drivers around.”

Driver Mans Grenhagen:

“Last season I found the pleasure in racing again and I’am hungry to compete in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. I choose Van Amersfoort Racing because of their experience and successes in Formula 3. My goal is to continue the strong form of 2012. I want to be in top 5 at the end of the season.”
